Mind Made Beautiful

Over the course of 4 weeks participants will be introduced to and guided through 4 different traditional Buddhist meditation techniques; body scan, loving kindness, mindfulness on breathing, and walking meditation. In addition to practicing the techniques, topics of discussion will cover the basics of finding a comfortable sitting position, the nature of the mind and how suffering arises, the common hindrances and how to overcome them, and tips for maintaining a regular home practice. Each session will be 2 hours in length and conclude with opportunities for questions & answers.

The pre-registration cost for all 4 sessions is $60 and highly encouraged. Drop-ins at $20 a class will be welcomed on the condition that participants arrive 15 minutes prior to class in order to determine a comfortable sitting position.

No previous experience is necessary. Participants are welcome to bring their own cushions/benches but meditation cushions will be provided. It is recommended to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing, and we kindly ask that participants refrain from wearing any fragrances.

Acupuncture after a yoga practice can help to magnify the benefits of yoga. This relaxation treatment will help to calm your mind, release muscle tension, and restore balance to help you find a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. We will start with a Chakra balancing yoga practice to level out and clear the main energy centers in the body. While resting in savasana, the acupuncture needles will be inserted either in the ear, between the eyebrows, on the wrists, and on the feet. Also, during this meditative Savasana, essential oils will be sampled for even more ahhhhhhhhh!
